When the Beirut National Museum reopened after 25 years of restoration work, Milia Maroun was commissioned to create a celebratory new piece to sit amongst some of the finest ancient art in the middle east. Lyrically named Soi Soie (French for ‘be silk’), the robe-like coat was inspired by the story of the silk road: the meandering tale of opulent goods gathering cultural texture as they travelled.
